Strucproof piling systems include both helical piles and micropiles — two complementary approaches for transferring structural loads into deeper or more reliable ground. Both are well suited for retrofit conditions, new construction on challenging sites, and situations where conventional driven piles or drilled shafts are impractical due to access, vibration, or site constraints.

Helical piles are steel shafts with welded helical plates that are mechanically screwed into the ground — producing minimal vibration, requiring no excavation, and providing immediate load-bearing capacity upon installation. Micropiles are small-diameter (typically 5–12 inch), high-strength steel-cased piles that are drilled and grouted into place — offering high load capacity in a compact footprint, even in dense, rocky, or variable subsurface conditions.

When an existing structure no longer has the foundation support condition it needs — or when a new structure must be built on ground that cannot reliably carry the intended loads — the solution often requires transferring load to a deeper, more competent zone. Surface repair, grouting, or soil improvement may help in some cases, but when the issue is depth-to-competent-bearing, the structure needs a pile.

Piling Methods

SYSTEM 01

Helical Piles

Steel shafts with factory-welded helical bearing plates, mechanically screwed into the ground using rotary hydraulic equipment. No excavation, no spoils, no curing time — the pile is load-ready immediately upon installation.

How they’re installed

The pile is advanced by rotating the shaft into the soil. The helical plates pull the pile downward — much like a screw into wood — until the required torque and depth are achieved in the target bearing stratum.

SYSTEM 02

Micropiles

Small-diameter (typically 5–12 inch), high-strength, drilled and grouted piles that transfer structural loads through steel reinforcement and grout bonded to the surrounding soil or rock. Ideal for challenging subsurface conditions.

How they’re installed

A hole is drilled to the design depth. Steel reinforcement (casing and/or threaded bar) is placed, and cementitious grout is pumped under pressure to bond the pile to the surrounding ground. The pile cap or connection is then constructed.
